'60s and ‘70s. There are moments of triumph that were shared by all of us, like the day an American first landed and walked on the moon. The book includes stories of personal growth and change like that of the Air Force Sergeant who went to the Philippines to meet the planes returning Prisoners of War from Vietnam, the young Cuban girl who saw her way of life disappear overnight, and the young girl who remembers being constantly afraid because of the nuclear threat during the Cold War. Her closest brush with history was as a student at Little Rock Central High School during the 1957 integration crisis.
